There have been a lot great articles about decolonizing yoga and honoring the practice's roots. I've always aspired to present an holistic practice that would be welcoming and inclusive. I continue to educate myself and some of you may have noticed that I no longer end my classes with namaste. As a white woman from rural Pennsylvania, yoga is not my heritage. It was not part of my culture. I came to the practice as an adult and quickly knew I wanted to share it, with everyone. By studying at Plasha Yoga, I learned the practice and philosophies from Swami Satchidananda's lineage, that he learned as part of growing up Hindu in India. He believed "truth is one, paths are many."As I work towards my own peaceful enlightenment and guide students on their paths, I seek to do no harm. If my use of namaste negatively effected your practice, I apologize and assure that I'm continuing toward a more perfect practice for myself and those I'm fortunate to practice with.If you're interested in learning more, I recommend the work Susanna Lynn Barkataki is doing as a start. www.susannabarkataki.com/post/namasteBe well, friends -see you on your mats!🙏🏻To “Namaste?” Or not to Namaste?🙏🏻FULL ARTICLE HERE: www.susannabarkataki.com/post/namaste?fbclid=IwAR0jKaf6yzIo_xHJesCUcnUsLmgUejM5lMAIxvq3ENOeuaE5Yf...⠀For those of you wondering about using - or removing - Namaste in your yoga classes, here’s a nuanced take by @susannabarkataki - seen widely as a voice of yogic cultural heritage and appreciation vs. appropriation awareness.⠀🤩I’d love to hear your thoughts on this!⠀She also offers an incredible free resource of 60 mindful alternatives to Namaste.⠀ ♥️Sadie***** ... Our dog, Kylo (black lab), had a blast making new friends and splashing in the creek.

This year has been filled with lessons. We've lear This year has been filled with lessons.
We've learned to be still.
We've learned to be alone.
We've learned what, and who, we really need in our lives.
We've learned to be patient.
We've learned to redirect.
We've learned to adapt, adjust, and accommodate.

Tomorrow will not be a magic wand that poofs our worries and problems away.
But after this long, dark, year of learning,
we're prepared to take action.
We're prepared to create.
We're prepared to evolve.

Let's begin again.

How are you going to feel?
When are you going to start?
Where are you going to go?
What are you going to accomplish?
Who are you going to be?

I know that personally, I've seen what truly matters to me and what my priorities are.

I will be stepping away from social media for the duration of 2020, to keep my mind and heart free from distraction, so that my energy's resonance will be ready to serve you.

Class updated will be released on yogi-chelsea.com and in my emails.

Have a blessed holiday season!

What are you feeding your soul this week? At some What are you feeding your soul this week?

At some point in my morning (variable, depending on yoga teaching, kids waking, workouts, etc), I sit with my planners (I'm a Virgo, of course I have more than one) and my daily readings.

It's a time for contemplation. A time to tune into my passions and desires so that I can turn my focus and my time on these pursuits. It's my ritual alignment.

Do I miss days? Of course! But I know I'm better when I choose this time and space. And the more I choose this, the easier it gets. The more I choose myself, the easier it gets
